Fire Alarm upgrade at the Gainsborough Hotel

Yesterday, Fire Systems started the upgrade of the existing fire alarm system at the Gainsborough Hotel.

The 48 bedroom hotel currently has a wired addressable fire alarm system, but not all the rooms have a smoke detector and sounder. Following a visit from the fire officer and the undertaking of a fire risk assessment, the hotel was informed that the remaining bedrooms without smoke detection (about 30 rooms), would require smoke detection and sounder if necessary.

The hotel looked at various options, but wiring in the additional smoke detectors was a non starter due to cost for decoration and disturbance to the hotel.

Fire Systems Ltd have provided a hybrid option using both wired and wireless smoke detection and manual call points.

Not many fire alarm companies have the expertise and professionalism to carry out this fire alarm installation within four to five days.

The hotel with the help of Fire Systems Ltd has put together a revised fire action plan and are now in the process of removing the existing fire alarm panel, smoke detectors and manual call points.

Hopefully phase one will be completed today, and tomorrow we can start installing the new Radio fire alarm interface units.

One completion of our works, we will be offering the Hotel and competitive fire alarm maintenance package for their consideration.
